Holi is around the corner . Here are few tips to enjoy HOLI without worrying about your skin or hair, Colours with dyes, chemicals and heavy metals my cause allergies, skin irritation and even breakouts. Hence herbal and organic colours should be the preferred choice to avoid any harm to skin or hair. One should avoid threading, waxing, facials etc at least a week prior to holi as they damage the skin natural barrier and the chemicals in the colours can easily seep in to the skin Oil your body and hair as oil forms a protective coating around skin and hair . Hence this prevents seepage of colour into the skin. One can use olive oil or coconut oil Wear full sleeve cotton clothes so that there is minimum exposure of skin to colours Trim the nail and apply nail polish to protect them. Apply petroleum jelly under the nails to avoid colour deposition. Drink plenty of water and juices as colours lead to dryness. Avoid alcohol as it dehydrates the skin Apply lip balm Apply high SPF sunscreen as this protects the skin from sun and colours Avoid sitting in the sun after playing holi People using contact lens should avoid wearing them while playing HOLI IN case of irritation, wash with plain water.
